The Rising Heart: A Vigil for Australia
An offering of light in a moment of collective grief
We’ve all been touched by the events that played out in Australia last weekend. What happened at Bondi has landed in our chests in a way that’s hard to explain.
Australia holds a special place in the world’s heart. There’s something about this country - its lightness, its humor and its ease - that even when the rest of the world feels like it’s falling apart, Australia has always held a kind of calm. It’s a place where people still smile at strangers, breathe a little easier, and feel a little safer.
But not this weekend.
This weekend, something broke through that was never meant to reach those shores.
It’s different when violence touches a land that has worked so hard to keep its people safe. It hits deeper and it shakes something we didn’t realise we relied on.
Whatever you’re feeling right now - it’s okay.
Heavy is okay. Scared is okay.
Angry, heartbroken, numb, speechless, they’re all okay.
When one of the world’s “safe places” loses its sense of safety, it does something to the collective nervous system but when things feel darkest, that’s exactly when we remember who we are.
We are the light.
The sound activation below was created to help hold light for everyone affected by the Bondi Beach massacre - the ones who were there, the ones who ran to help, the ones watching from afar trying to make sense of it, and the families whose lives will never look the same.
It’s also for the land itself - for the Great South Land - a place that has always carried more heart than it ever asks credit for.
If you’ve been feeling helpless, unsure what to do, this is the offering:
You help by holding light.
You help by opening your heart.
You help by choosing care when everything feels chaotic.
No action required.
Energy is action.
Frequency is action.
So take a breath.
Put your headphones on.
Let your heart widen just a little.
And together, let’s send our light across the sea to Australia, to Bondi and to everyone trying to find steady ground again.

Thank you so much for this healing balm. May it travel far and wide and bring grace and strength to shattered hearts. 🌹
