The Song I Wrote for When You Can’t Get Off the Floor
You don’t need another playlist. You need medicine. This is that. Your Nervous System Will Thank You.
We live in a world that asks us to stay functioning - even when we’re fractured.
To carry on.
Push through.
Smile politely while quietly falling apart.
If you’re tired, numb, or quietly breaking.
If your chest is tight but you don’t know why.
If you can’t cry, or can’t stop.
If it’s all too loud, or too quiet, or too much.
This song is for that.
This song is for you.

I wrote The Rise of the Phoenix as a cinematic instrumental
designed to be music-as-medicine.
Every sound in this piece was chosen with intention - grounded
in science and built for resonance.
This music is made to be felt, not just heard.
(It’s basically the sonic equivalent of a weighted blanket)
You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need to explain your grief.
You don’t even need to know what’s wrong.
You just need a frequency that knows what to do.

The Ritual to Receive This Song:
This 4 minute sonic healing journey was made for transformation.
But to really receive it - you’ve got to choose presence.
Use headphones. You can use speakers or play it in your car, but the song is designed in wide stereo to create a fully immersive experience. Headphones allow your nervous system to be completely present with the music, deepen the envelopment and access the full scope of the emotion.
Find a cosy, quiet, safe space. Be in a place where your nervous system can fully exhale. Eliminate all distractions - an eye mask can help you go even further.
You want to allow your nervous system the opportunity to fully engage with the energy and resonance of this song.Bring a warm drink or snack. It’s all about creating a safe environment that allows your system to receive. (A toastie or gooey chocolatey snack is strongly encouraged).
Sit or lie down. Press play. Close your eyes. Breathe.
Feel whatever comes up. Grief. Joy. Anger. Nothingness. Just don’t push it away and don't judge it. Let it speak. Give yourself permission and patience to be with your emotion.
Allow your body permission to receive the resonance. Give yourself permission and freedom to move and physically receive the music. For me, it’s moving my feet or head along with the music, sometimes I’ll raise/waves my hands as if i’m conducting my emotions, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I sob. It’s about emotional freedom to respond without judgement. Just truth.
The resonance knows what to do. Trust it.
Let the fire rebuild you.
That’s what the phoenix does.
And now - so do you.
I made this song to resonate.
It’s not mine anymore. It’s yours now - to hold whatever you need it to hold.
If something stirred in you - I’d love to know.
Drop a comment. Slide into my DMs. Pass it on, or just say:
“Mate, I cried and then I made a sandwich.”
That’s the dream. Truly.
If you cried and have no idea why,
or if something hit you in the chest
and you’re thinking, “What the hell just happened?” -
I break it all down in my next post. Click below.

It’s my feeling that when music hits those chords that match a humans’ it’s magical.
When it resonates from the brain stem out under my ears it’s breathtaking.
