The Song I Wrote for When You’re Stuck Between Brave and Burnt Out
You don’t need another playlist. You need a hand to hold. This song is that. Your heart and nervous system will thank you. Sometimes brave starts with just breathing, a melody and maybe a biscuit.
Big Adventures, Tiny Feet, Brave Heart
Perhaps you’ve felt it.
The weird limbo that happens after you’ve been through something significant.
Maybe grief, burnout, a breakup, tragedy, or a big life door slammed in your face with the subtlety of a freight train.
You’re not broken anymore, but not quite whole.
Just kind of stuck.
In between the feeling of potential and immobility.
The desire to put one foot in front of the other is strong,
but you end up in the kitchen unsure of why you’re there.
(Spoiler: The reason is a snack. It’s always a snack.)
A Sonic Sidekick
When you’re stuck there, between the ache and action - music helps.
You need resonance.
Not to fix.
Not to push.
Just to walk with you as you figure it out.
I created Big Adventures, Tiny Feet, Brave Heart as a sonic sidekick - tuned with the exact frequencies your brave heart (and maybe tiny feet) need to dare to try.
It’s for the ones who want a gentle nudge.
It’s the soundtrack for choosing to take a step.
It’s the slow build and cinematic sound of possibility.
This is the sound of brave.
This is the sound of trust.
This is the sound of someone who says.
“something is coming and I might be brave enough to meet it”.
This cinematic journey is for the ones who remembered to never stop being brave.
Fun fact: the ending of this piece is literally what I hear when I lay my head on the pillow at night.
It’s the quiet smile of maybe.
Maybe tomorrow’s a little lighter.
Maybe I’ll meet something good.
The Ritual to Receive This Song:
This sonic sidekick is a cinematic frequency journey - made for transformation and empowerment.
But to really receive it - you’ve got to choose presence.
Use headphones. You can use speakers or play it in your car, but the song is designed in wide stereo to create a fully immersive experience. Headphones allow your nervous system to be completely present with the music, deepen the envelopment and access the full scope of the emotion.
Find a dark, quiet, safe space. Be in a place where your nervous system can fully exhale. Eliminate all distractions - an eye mask can help you go even further.
You want to allow your nervous system the opportunity to fully engage with the energy and resonance of this song.Bring a warm drink or snack. It’s all about creating a safe environment that allows your system to relax and receive. (A toastie or gooey chocolatey snack, or a hot cacao is strongly encouraged).
Sit or lie down. Press play. Close your eyes. Breathe.
Feel whatever comes up. Adventure. Joy. Hope. Curiosity. Excitement. Nothingness. Just don’t push it away and don't judge it. Let it speak. Give yourself permission and patience to be with your emotion.
Allow your body permission to receive the resonance. Give yourself permission and freedom to move and physically receive the music. For me, it’s moving my feet or head along with the music, sometimes I’ll raise/wave my hands as if i’m conducting my emotions, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I sob. It’s about emotional freedom to respond without judgement. Just truth.
The resonance knows what to do. Trust it.
Let this song hold your hand while you take the first step.
Let it stir that tiny, sacred something in your chest that still believes in better.
There might just be an adventure waiting.
All it needs is a little courage, that first step - and maybe a biscuit.
I made this song to resonate.
It’s not just my theme song anymore though - it’s for your maybe and your quiet courage.
If something shifted in you, I’d love to know.
Leave a comment, share it on, or just whisper:
“I pressed play, cried/laughed a bit, and then took a tiny step.”
That’s the whole point. Truly.
If you had a unexpected emotional reaction.
If you suddenly felt a swell of tears, or an eruption of laughter.
If you are wondering what just happened, my next post will tell you.
This is the story behind the song, and the science behind the resonance.

"bless the tiny steps...each one is precious---not just my own, but the tiny steps each one of us make..." Those are the words that rose as I listened and they will walk through my day with me like a gentle little light.
We have a saying in our little cottage... "it's hard to be mad when you've got good snacks." 🥹 I pressed play, cried a little bit, then smiled widely. The time to take the next tiny step is upon me, and I'm so grateful for this anthem. It helped bridge my heart and my mind, showed me my own inner light, and fortified belief in my own small stride to carry me where I'm going. 🙏💜✨ Thank you! xx
