For Those Feeling Unscheduled and Adrift...
A sound activation for those who finally got the day off and can't figure out why it feels so unsettling.
A day off! No meetings, no appointments, nowhere to be, this, is the dream. So why does it feel unsettling, like you’re already late for life? The freedom and rest was supposed to feel welcomed, but instead it creates a feeling of being adrift. Maybe we have gotten so used to rushing and doing that when permission to switch off is finally given, the default to be on just won’t change. The switch won’t budge.
The default needs to change from always being on and wired, to peace and groundedness. This is where the medicine of music comes in and I create this music because I need it. The orchestral music and embedded breathing pattern in these sound activations give the nervous system a genuine break and teach it that switching off is not only safe, but necessary (and something your nervous system will thank you for). To change the default, we need to offer the nervous system this respite daily, and teach it that rest is normal, not just as an occasional treat.
Today’s sound activation is for the ones standing in the pause between one chapter and the next. Because an open day is not an empty day and what we do with our unclaimed hours often matters more than what we do with our scheduled ones. (Hint: the unclaimed hours are an excellent invitation to seek the stillness)
If you’re feeling unscheduled and adrift, then let this music be the medicine that turns the drift into spaciousness and lets your body rest where it wants to rest. Get comfortable, put on your headphones (best way to experience the journey) and let this sound carry you, exactly where you need to go
The Resonance Room is also available to listen to on Apple Podcasts each week day. Weekend sound activations are only available to Resonance Room Plus+ subscribers.
Dear friends,
Each day, we gather here - hearts from every corner of the globe - to share a breath, a quiet pause, and send the light of our love into a dark world.
Today we send the light of our love to those standing in the open before the next thing arrives. To the ones who can feel something coming but cannot yet see its shape. To those learning that an open day is not an empty day, that the space before a shift is sacred, and that what we do with our unclaimed hours often matters more than what we do with our scheduled ones. We send our light to those whose lives are in the pause between one chapter and the next.
May I honour the openness of this day.
I let the unstructured hours be their own kind of offering.
I release the urge to fill every space with purpose.
I trust that rest is preparation.
I let my mind wander without apology.
I let the horizon stay wide before I narrow it.
Today’s open sky is a gift
Not every day is meant to be aimed.
Some days are meant to be wide.
Today, the sky opens the horizon
Let your attention drift where it wants to drift.
Let your body rest where it wants to rest.
What we allow to be unscheduled often brings what was never on the list.
The day is open for you.
The view widens today presenting a genuine breathing space after weeks of intensity. The mind is still finding its footing in slower, earthier territory. Thoughts are wanting to ripen and words are wanting weight before they land. Tomorrow brings movement but today invites openness.
This is a day for walking further than you planned, thinking loosely, and letting the horizon remind you how big your life actually is.
May your day be filled with love and light,
P.S. I would love to know - what is your listening ritual?

I'm building the habit of starting each weekday here, as soon as possible after waking up which is pretty close to dawn if I've had a good sleep.
